Hot.

We lost count of all the roadkill, which included a cow and a bunch of poor dios (arm means poor in German ergo: armadillo = poor dio).

We've made it all the way to Louisana after a sweltering day in the Houston / Galveston area. Got "lost" and ended up taking a surprise free ferry which was really cool to get where we were going.

We were playing the "Maersk Game", which we read about on another blog, and we had to give up since we were in the port area and there was a surfeit of containers. The game involves the Danish shipping giant Maersk, and the goal is to find at least one shipping container everywhere you find yourself on this planet. Not much of a game, as you can even find them in the remote and out of the way places. Try it wherever you live and you'll see one soon. Just look for the white7-pointed star on the light-blue background and the giant MAERSK SEALAND on the side. Also not fair if you live in Copenhagen (Sophie!)

How crazy are we?

We decided to drive straight through and enjoy the beautiful state of Kansas in the dark. Wise choice; you don't know how boring it is if you can't see it. Plus 70 degrees instead of 100 with the sun beating down is a good thing. Now we're tired and are gonna take a nap during the heat of the day. If we were a Civil War peace treaty, we'd be Nappamattox. (How tired are we to come up with something so corny?)

Also, strange animal Karma. Had a chipmonk stand up in the middle of us driving over him. He's fine, since he stayed put right in the center of the car, missing all four tires. Almost the same thing with a second one about 15 min later, and around midnight, barely missed a rabbit in a similar way. Bad news: 5 dead skunks. We had nothing to do with that and we were out of town when it went down. I think it was Toronto... oh wait it was San Diego, that's right, San Di...

The Great Knock-out the USA tour.....

Knock-out! Knock-out! Not knock-up! No knocking-up allowed!

Coming to a state near you! Well, if you're to the East of Colorado. And if we like you. Maybe.

First stop, Goodland KS. Cause there's a KOA there. And we'll be tired. And they have free internet access. Kind of like Starbux, only without the coffee, or faux-cool atmosphere, or really anything like that at all. They do have coin-operated showers tho.....

Husband here: by the end of this trip we will have been to 49 of the 50 US States. Last one: Hawaii!
